That Darn Cat!

Last week, after a rather large storm, we woke up to a surprise. There was a cat lingering in our backyard. Much to Elliott's dismay, this cat would not leave. Aubrey wanted to feed it, so with the help of Mom, we secretly gave it some lunch meat. William took on the demeanor of his father and would try to chase the cat away, but it refused to leave. Finally, last Sunday night, after two days with us, I couldn't stand its pleas for food any longer. So, I opened a can of tuna and gave it the food and a dish of water. As the cat devoured the fish, we felt guilty for not feeding it sooner. I also took its picture to make up some signs in an attempt to find the owner. Sunday night as I worked on the poster, another storm blew in. On Monday morning, I got up and promptly distributed all of signs. Then I returned home to find that the cat was not there. I figured it would be back so I left the signs up. It has now been a week and the cat has not returned. I guess I should go take down my signs!
