Okay, now that I have given this disclosure, I will tell my story.
It began yesterday afternoon. I had a friend and her kids over, and apparently I wasn't watching Brooke close enough - that's a common occurrence around here. She came into the family room and she smelled like sh!zzzz. I checked her diaper - it was fine, and then I went to check the bathroom - her new favorite place to be.
Brooke had decided to play in the toilet, and she had gotten smelly poo water EVERYWHERE. It was nasty! I cleaned it up and then cleaned her up. I washed her hands with soap {TWICE!}. They still smelled. So, I put Germ-X on them - They STILL smelled. So, finally, I put smelly lotion on her so that I didn't have to smell the crap. It was not fun.
Now, that brings me to today. Even though I had wiped up the mess in the bathroom, it was still dirty...so I decided to clean my bathrooms.
I put Brooke in the tub {sans water} so that she wouldn't get into anything, and I began to clean my bathroom. I had recently purchased a new toilet bowl cleaner, a cheaper toilet bowl cleaner, and I was noticing that I didn't really like it.
Once I was done cleaning my bathroom, I put Brooke down for a nap, and moved on to the other bathrooms.
The new toilet bowl cleaner was continuing to plague me. It just wasn't working as well as my old reliable Clorox. As I thought about it, I remembered a time last year when I had been trying to find a new bathroom cleaner. I would clean my bathrooms and five minutes later they would smell - the same smell this new toilet bowl cleaner was not taking away. Finally, I looked up online what product professional cleaners used. The answer is --- COMET! So, I purchased some, and I love it. It takes away that horrible smell from little boy messes, and it stays away - until his next mess.
As I was musing about this past experience, I realized that my Clorox had been wonderful. It took away that smell - the one I had tried so hard to get rid of a year ago.
So, to everyone out there that cleans their bathrooms, and can't seem to get the smell out, I recommend two different products.
For the bowl - CLOROX.

For the actual toilet itself - COMET

I know this was a very long story just to plug two cleaning products. But like the saying goes..."getting there is half the fun." And going through the last two days, just to come to the conclusion that I liked my cleaning supplies, was an experience that I really had to share.
Hope you enjoyed.

I LOVE Comet cleaner! I concur, makes things smell CLEAN. not fruity, cinnamony or rainforesty...just pure clean! Your post cracked me up!
I've never tried the comet spray before. I always buy the cheap $1 cleaners because my sister swears by them, but they never work well enough for me. I like my bathrooms to be sterile. Especially since I have a little boy who pees everywhere now too. I'll try both of those. Mitchell LOVES to play in the toilet too, so we're working with Jackson on closing the lid and flushing EVERY TIME.
Love both those products. They do work great! What a yucky experience you had. And yes, I clean my own house too.
Thanks for the tips. Very worthwhile blog! Good cleaning products make all the difference!
