I am probably the only person who can say that I have never read this book to my children....
until yesterday.
Aubrey came home from school with Knuffle Bunny as one of her library books. William was so excited that he was looking it over while I was preparing snacks and trying to get Aubrey ready for Ballet.
Later that evening, when we got a chance to sit down, William called me over and said, "Mom, come look at this!"
He started at the first of the book and began telling me what it was about - just from looking at the pictures.
Then, he came to a specific picture:
"...and then she started throwing the clothes everywhere. The shirt on the floor, and the pants on her head, and....well, I don't know what that is."
I almost started laughing out loud. Luckily, William flipped the page and kept going with the rest of the story.
If you haven't figured out what he was talking about, look here:

At the end of William's rendition, I opened the book to that specific page, held it up for Elliott to see, and said, "Look Daddy, at what a fun book this is!"
The best part is that the nice white unmentionables are also located on another page in the book. Have you ever noticed them on this page?
I'm just glad that William moved on with the story and we were able to forgo that conversation. I know it's inevitable, but I just don't want to have it with my 5 year old son. Not yet.

That's really funny. And I have never read this book either. William is a cute kid.
We love that book. So funny.
P.S. When are you starting the recipe blog? I'm so in.
We've read a different Knuffle Bunny book. Funny!
Mo Willems writes funny funny books- his ones with the pig and the elephant are our faves- but they don't include skivvies
