Things I Remembered at Miss America

These are thing I've always known and that I was reminded of on my trip to Vegas.

1. My family is awesome!

I have the best family in the world. They are supportive, encouraging, and willing to get your back in any situation. I couldn't believe how many people and family members came to support Kayla. It was great to see everyone.

2. Scott really can ride a wheelie in a wheelchair.

It took a few times practicing, but he eventually got it. Thanks for letting him borrow it, Grandma.

3. Clinton Kelly is really tall.

I'm 5'6" plus I have on 4" heels, and he's still that much taller than me. Thanks to Tausha and Tuesdee for keeping him there while I ran down 19 flights to see him. Yes - I did say 4" heels.

5. All the Barclay girls love their Daddy.

My dad is an amazing person that is so loving and kind. How can you not love him?

6. I really don't like Vegas.

Yes, I know it has lights and glitz and glam, but overall, I really don't like Vegas. Maybe it's because I was trying to guide 4 teenage girls through casinos while trying to avoid the various forms of nudity that were being driven past, posted on walls, and handed out in pamphlets.
I should never have to yell at a man and say, "She's underage! Do NOT give that to her!!!"

But hey, the fountain was nice.

7. I should never stand next to Kayla in a picture.

This one is pretty self explanatory. However, if I don't stand next to Kayla than I just have to stand next to Tausha and that puts me in the same predicament.

8. I LOVE my sisters!

I am so lucky to have two such wonderful women as my sisters. They are constantly uplifting those around them. They make me want to be better. Thank you guys.

9. I am so proud of Kayla.

Kayla is the type of person that never goes into anything half-hearted. She always gives everything 110%.

I was impressed by the amount of people that came from our small community to support her. We had over 50 people there every night. Plus, I constantly had strangers coming up to me and telling me how much they liked Kayla.

She kept her standards in the face of adversity. She did what she knew was right and what she knew the Lord wanted her to do. She never backed down. That's true integrity. That's Kayla.

I love you, sis.

Cami,
Thank you sooo much for your wonderful post! It made me cry and yes, I'm still crying as I'm writing this. I love you so much Camille. I was so glad I had a little bit of time to spend with just you! :-) Yes, I must agree all of us girls love our daddy. I'm so proud of Kayla too. Scott, that was freakin' sweet that you can do a wheelie in grandma's wheelchair! And above all, you are right Cami, we have a FANTASTIC family!!!! I love all of you so much. Thank you again Camille for spending so much quality time with me. I can't wait to see your kids and hubby. I love you sooo much!!!

I am jealous of you on so many levels...I have always wanted to go to a pageant. I used to watch faithfully and I would imitate and contestants that annoyed me. Also...Clinton Kelly, need I say more. I have watched What Not To Wear faithfully for years. As for your #7 statement...not true. Don't get me wrong, Kayla is gorgeous and would hate her as a sister. However, I had Jeremy watch the beginning of the pageant when they introduced themselves. He saw Kayla and immediately turned to me and said, "Camille is prettier..." I actually agree, I am biased however because you are so great too! Hope too see you while we are there next weekend!

Isn't it great to have sisters?! What a great post. AND, you are all so beautiful. I'm proud of your sister and her determination and integrity. She looks great. My girls just loved looking at all of her pretty "princess" dresses. I'm sure your sister really enjoyed having such a great support team!

Not to be weird/gross, but as a cousin I feel I can say this. Granted we are related, but somehow your family (probably from the Kloepfer side) got the most amazing bodies and chests! Plus you have the Hollywood plush lips...yes this is sounding weird. I would feel disgusting standing next to any of you in a picture. You do have a wonderful family and I have always loved your dad. He has a way of making everyone feel special.
